    5Excellent value
    By Michelle Stone
I have several of these to use in my Astronomy hobby. I tend to misplace things like this, so I have several. The price here on Amazon is better than anywhere else too. I especially like the lanyard which keeps the light right where I need it. Watch the connection though on that lanyard. I had one end come loose on one of my lights. The fix was easy. I just threaded the string through the metal clasp and tied a knot. Easy peasy. No astronomer should be without at least two of these. They are essential in preserving your night vision. And FWIW, they are identical to every other brand out there. I think they are all made by the same company.

4This is a pretty good flashlight for the price
    By Darren
This is a pretty good flashlight for the price. It's basically just 2 red LEDs soldered to a circuit board with a dimmer switch and 9v battery terminals in black plastic. In this price range having the dimmer switch is a nice feature that not all of the competition offers, but the first 2/3 - 3/4 of the switch are all very dim and then the last part suddenly moving it very little makes a much larger difference which can make finding the sweet spot a little bit of a pain, but that's being pretty nit picky and the only real fault I can find with it. It would also be nice if it was a little brighter, but for $10 I feel like it is a great value.

To change the battery you pull off the front of the light with the clear screen on it, and then with your thumb you push the dimmer knob all the way forward until it stops and then keep pushing. This will push part of the circuit board out and then you can grab it and pull it all the way out. The 9V battery will be attached to the terminals on the back of the board. Just pull it off and put a new one on and then slide the battery and circuit board back into the case and put the front back on.
